mn3n2 compound name

Hydrogen is the most abundant element in the universe and is an excellent renewable energy carrier. It is nonpolluting and forms water as the only byproduct during use. However, hydrogen must be stored and delivered in a safe and cost-effective manner to facilitate its widespread use.

Metal nitride-based thin film binder-free electrodes are a promising candidate for next generation electrochemical energy storage devices. In this study, we investigate the effect of various aqueous electrolytes on the performance of Mn3N2 binder-free electrodes deposited on conducting stainless steel substrates by DC magnetron sputtering. The morphology of the electrodes was characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy and the electrochemical measurements were performed by cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charge-discharge measurements. The Mn3N2 electrodes showed high areal capacitance of 118 mF cm-2 for KOH, 68 mF cm-2 for KCl and 27 mF cm-2 for Na2SO4 at a scan rate of 10 mV/s with good cycling stability and capacitance retention of 98.5%, 89% and 80% after 4,000 cycles respectively.
